Relex Reliability Studio 2008 offers new capabilities and features to increase your efficiency and productivity. As always, we maintain our commitment to remaining the toolset of choice for reliability professionals worldwide.
The addition of string operations greatly enhances Relex Reliability Studio’s user-definable calculation features.
Two new prediction standards are included in Studio 2008 to meet your needs in today's global economy.
Choose from straight line, arced, and curved connectors to make RBD diagrams stand out.
Organize your Projects with the handy new folder feature.

What’s New in Studio 2008? Plenty!
The most recent release of Relex’s Reliability Studio platform adds an impressive array of new features designed to enhance and advance your analysis activities. Building on the solid, proven Studio framework, Relex Reliability Studio 2008 introduces new technology-driven features along with a wide-ranging list of new capabilities.

Performance: Improving performance across the board.
Relex Reliability Studio 2008 exhibits a range of performance improvements to streamline your reliability activities. From start-up time to data viewing to calculations and reporting, our team has worked hard to optimize the functions you use in your daily work. Whether you use the Team Edition on a single computer or the Enterprise Edition in a global deployment, our performance improvements will save time and increase efficiencies across the board.

New Technologies: Keeping in synch with technology advances.
As ever, we work hard to always remain on top of the latest software advances in both operating systems and business tools. The import and export functions of Relex Reliability Studio 2008 support Microsoft® Excel® 2007 and Microsoft Access™ 2007. We have also broadened our import and export capabilities to include XML data transfers. Additionally, Relex Reliability Studio 2008 Enterprise Edition for Oracle® supports Oracle 11g.

Text Functions: Offering a wealth of new possibilities for data manipulation.
Relex Reliability Studio 2008 adds an exciting new capability to our already tremendously flexible user-defined calculation features with support for string calculations. Through our calculation editor, you can access an array of string operations available for your text fields, including concatenate, uppercase, lowercase, left, mid, right, various text conversion functions, and many other string utilities. With this powerful new option, you have a world of new possibilities for data manipulation and processing.

Single Sign-On: Providing convenience and security.
Relex Reliability Studio 2008 supports an all-new integrated interface to Microsoft Active Directory® for accessing user and group information. And, for those who take advantage of Relex Reliability Studio’s support for Microsoft Active Directory, single sign-on is supported.

New Prediction Capabilities: Supporting global standards.
Relex Reliability Prediction incorporates two new prediction standards – Siemens SN29500 and China GJB/z 299C. The Siemens SN29500 standard from Siemens AG encompasses failure rate prediction models for a broad base of components. The Chinese Standard GJB/z 299C, Reliability Prediction Model for Electronic Equipment, represents the newest version of the popular China 299B standard and includes a number of new component failure rate models. Both Siemens SN29500 and China GJB/z 299C can be used as sole prediction models for your analyses, or incorporated with other Relex-supported prediction models.

Enhanced FMEA Features: Automating your FMEA tasks.
Relex FMEA now offers a Build FMEA from FRACAS function which enables you to automatically generate a FMEA based on your FRACAS information. The build process is wizard-based, which guides you in gathering and organizing data in an easily understandable format. Relex FMEA also includes a new Verify FMEA Data feature which runs a complete check to validate your FMEA data. Some of the items which can be verified include items with no failure modes, failure mode percentages not totaling 100%, and failure modes with no effects.

Build a FMEA from your FRACAS data
with the easy-to-follow wizard.

New RBD Features: Enhancing system modeling.
A new Verify RBD Data function allows you to check single or multiple diagrams to automatically verify the layout and data of your RBD and OpSim diagrams. You can check for errors such as missing connections, “never fail” or “always fail” settings, and zero restoration time for repairable items. Additionally, figures in Relex RBD and OpSim diagrams can be linked to your FRACAS results, allowing you to use your real-world field data in your RBD and OpSim calculations. Also, RBD diagrams now offer a selection of connector types to choose from. In addition to orthogonal connectors, you can now choose from Bézier curves, arcs, and straight lines to create cool-looking diagrams!

FRACAS Lookup Tables: Increasing your productivity.
Relex FRACAS streamlines data entry with automatic data population of fields by using FRACAS Lookup Table files. These customizable tables allow you to associate data with “key” fields. When criteria for these “key” fields are met, data is automatically retrieved and entered into associated fields, reducing repetitive data entry. An example of a Lookup Table operation is to enter a contact name and have the associated address, phone, and e-mail information auto-populated.

iArchitect Advances: Expanding Web-based capabilities.
Relex iArchitect continues to become the interface of choice for many customers, and now Relex Reliability Studio 2008 delivers a more powerful and richer Web-based interface experience. Here are some of the new features included in Relex iArchitect:

  • Filter and sort data directly in the displayed table with the Filter Bar feature.
  • Freeze columns in tables to more efficiently navigate through large data sets.
  • Manage your List Choice options more efficiently with the revamped List Library Editor.
  • Add and delete fields in tables with ease using the Format Builder.
  • View reports in your customized management dashboards.

Additional Capabilities: Listening to your requests!
Relex Studio offers a number of additional new features and, as always, we rely on you for your suggestions for improvements and ideas for new functionality. We appreciate your input and will continue to work to ensure meeting your needs is our priority. Here’s a brief list of other new capabilities you will find in Relex Reliability Studio 2008:

  • Print a table directly from the displayed data.
  • Define multiple mission profiles.
  • Group System files into folders within a Project.
  • Set Projects and data files to read-only status to prevent unauthorized modifications.
  • Group data by quarter for reports and graphs.
